{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{{Everyone}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}}} In the blink of an eye another year is behind us. Todays band is an American rock band formed in Athens, Georgia, in early 1980. Throughout the 1980s, the band worked relentlessly, releasing a record a year for seven consecutive years, from their debut EP in 1982 through 1988. They also toured constantly, playing a variety of venues, from theaters to backwoods dives. Along the way, they inspired countless bands, from jangle pop groups of the mid-'80s to alternative rock bands of the '90s. At the same time, the band was admired for its slow, steady rise to stardom, rare in an industry that grew to expect overnight success.
Todays song one of my favorite of theirs is a most direct, accessible lyric over a simple waltz-like melody courtesy of their drummer which became something of an anthem for the disillusioned, disenchanted youth of the mid-Nineties. The the song was originally released on the band's 1992 album and was also released as a single in 1993. It peaked at #29 on the Billboard Hot 100 and #7 on the UK Singles Charts. It was used on a movie soundtrack that was based on a TV show and more recently I heard it again on another TV show, or movie but can't remember the name, though I am thinking it was an episode of ER LOL. They have been used before. MP3 is needed
